Cocked Hat (child)

Regular price $7.00

Child-sized felt hat.

Did you know? Nowadays we call it a "tricorn," but in colonial times, this piece of head gear was known as a "cocked hat." The name comes from the fact that the brim, instead of being flat, is "cocked" or bent upwards and pinned to the crown. Cocked hats could have two or three corners. The French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte is often depicted wearing a two-cornered cocked hat.
